Andvari
The Andvari (Homo sapiens svartilus) are a human offshoot subspecies native to Skrymir, a super-Earth planet in the Jotun system which is located in the same star cluster as the Yggdrasil system, home of the Sylph. They are the descendants of the UES Poetic Edda, a generational ship initially intended to settle the planet Gandalf. However, due to a collision with an interstellar asteroid, they were forced to divert their course to the planet Skrymir. Though it was capable of supporting life, the planet being five times that of Earth's gravity made life highly uncomfortable to live on without extensive genetic modifications.
The Andvari have historically had conflicts with the Sylph over territory and mining rights. The two groups are often stereotyped as being rivals of one another.
Biology
The Andvari people are much shorter than average humans, with adults reaching no more than 3'10" tall. They have stocky builds with heavset arms and legs. As a side effect of having adapted to a high gravity planet, when on a world closer to Yeddo's gravity, they appear to exhibit superhuman strength, being capable of lifting objects many times their size.
Even so, Andvari rarely spend long on other planets as an extensive amount of time away from Skrymir or other similar high gravity worlds would cause them to suffer bone mass loss.
