Pulse is a lux who is the right-hand and commander for Phyliss Taranis.

Appearance

Pulse appears as a small, yet ferocious critter resembling a super-deformed wolverine with dark orange with purple stripes. He has a set of long, sharp claws and a set of fangs. He is much leaner compared to others of his species, having a more intimidating look to him.

Personality

Despite his diminuitive appearance, those who might initially mistake him as endearing have their assumptions brushed aside by his fearsome personality. He is very direct with his words, and he swiftly punishes those who seek to undermine Phyliss and her empire. He is rigidly loyal to Phyliss, swearing total allegiance to her and seeks nothing but to uphold her rule.

History

Pulse was discovered within a Valerian data crystal during Yeddo's post-Blackout period by early tribes that would one day become the ancient Taranis Empire. Although the Taranis clan was one of the more aggressive of the Valerian bloodlines, Pulse swore loyalty to them nonetheless and believed them to be the best hope to restoring life to how it was before the Blackout.

Though Pulse's memories were limited due to post-Blackout protocols, he knew of the location of several major Valerian artifacts to help give the Taranis clan their edge. He spoke of the remains of Kronos, a machine god rendered braindead during the Singularity War, that hid deep beneath the planet's surface. The wealth of knowledge and data centers he carried would help to give Taranis a technological jumpstart over their adversaries.

He has since continued to serve the Taranis bloodline for centuries, never once wavering in his loyalty. Each ruling monarch would pass on Pulse's data crystal to the next in line as he carried their accumulated knowledge and experiences with him.

Relationships

• Phyliss Taranis - He is completely loyal to her and follows her every will.
• Daughters of Taranis - He sees them as children as does Phyliss, and he cares for them. However, he believes they still have a long way to go before being considered worthy successors of the crown.
• Sophia Delphi - Pulse sees her as weak and unworthy of restoring the Valerian Empire. However, he shares Phyliss' respect for her.
• Twinkle - Pulse sees that he has potential, but is being held back by Sophia's lack of experience.
