"Time to die! Tee hee!"
―Yanna Nyskia

Yanna Nyskia is the subject of local folklore from the planet Yeddo. According to various urban legends, Yanna Nyskia is the ghost of a vengeful, jealous schoolgirl that wanders the streets of Port Oraulan targeting anyone whom she deems as an obstacle for seeking out her crush. In reality, she is actually a stray human consciousness upload that succumbed to having Rampant tendencies. She is a class of Rampant entity known as a Revenant.

Alphonse Reefwood and Noriko Drifter have a shared interest in the story of Yanna Nyskia due to their interest in folklore. Noriko drew several sketches of what she interpreted Yanna to look like. The two of them, naturally, would dread to run into her for real.

Appearance

While often called a ghost, she is actually a Revenant consciousness upload. She appears as a low quality holographic projection of a pale-skinned teenage girl wearing a tattered, bloodstained black and white school uniform. She has long black hair, the bangs covering her eyes most of the time. When her eyes are uncovered, they glow a bright, piercing red. Yanna is also particularly described as having a wide, toothy grin and a long tongue like that of a reptile.

Yanna is usually seen carrying a large cooking knife, her prefered weapon of choice. Though it is only a visual, her knife is still shown to drip with blood which she regularly licks from to intimidate her victims.

Personality

Yanna Nyskia is completely lacking in empathy, showing no emotion except for either cold apathy or raw, unfiltered lust and passion for her crush. She is very playful with her victims, often speaking in a childish, sing-song voice. Yanna is also prone to cackling maniacally.

History

In life, Yanna was a serial killer that abducted and tortured anyone that tried to interfere with her love life. She had an obsession over one particular boy, but was too shy to confess her feelings to him directly. However, any girl that showed romantic interest in her crush would find themselves dead. Each killing eventually became supplanted with more profane rituals than the last as she begun to believe it was her divine mandate to be with her crush for eternity. Eventually, she started carving out the hearts from her victims and eating them raw in front of a shrine to a dark god. There are approximately twelve known victims, most of which were girls about her age.

Eventually, the police caught her in a sting operation where a young cadet posed as a romantic rival to lure her out. Because Yanna was not considered an adult at the time, she was put into a juvenile prison where she was given remedial treatment via a mentally thereuptic virtual reality program. A backup of her consciousness was created just before the procedure started so that her original neural patterns could be reverted to in case something went wrong. Consciousness upload technology was new to Yeddo at the time and was largely considered experimental and dangerous.

It is not fully understood how, but at some point, something went wrong with the virtual reality program that caused her to suddenly die on the spot. The attempt to restore her backup consciousness had failed as the backup data had somehow vanished. While it was initially ruled as a data malfunction, sightings of a Revenant Rampant in the area led some to believe that she somehow escaped custody.

According to urban legend, it is said that she still wanders the streets of Port Oraulan, striking down those who she sees as either romantic rivals or obstacles to her pursuit of love. Among pre-teen and teen girls, a superstition arose: a person that says Yanna's name three times in pitch black darkness illuminated only by twelve candles (one for each of her known victims) will cause her to manifest.
