Ferogator

Ferogators are a species of crocodilian native to Yeddo. Like many species of Yeddo, they are believed to have originated from the same homeworld as humans due to genetic similarities.

Ferogators are ambush predators, prefering to hide in the water, disguising themselves as floating pieces of debris before they strike with a bite force of 4,000 PSI. Depending on the region, they can vary in color ranging from black, grey, green and brown - usually depending on how much nearby foilage there is. They tend to have box-like, ridged scales with some species even resembling girders and other construction materials. Their evolutionary adaptation to urban environments is thought of as a clue as to how old the nearby Valerian ruins are.

Ferogators are fiercely territorial, having been known to attack humans that pass through the swamps and wetlands of Midori Gardens. As such, anyone venturing into areas with known populations of ferogators are advised to bring a weapon and a force shield in the event of an attack.

For some reason, ferogators are afraid of common house cats. Despite being potentially easy prey, cats will drive them away due to their fierce posture. In addition to weapons, a person may also choose to bring as a cat or cat-like creature as a traveling companion. Ferogators also have similar reactions to hybrids that resemble felines. Naturally, some feline hybrids are employeed as guides when exploring Midori Gardens.
