Simian
Simians are a broad category of several species of non-human primates. They include several species such as chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orangutans. Although they have a similar body plan as humans, simians are much physically stronger but with less endurance. They are also adept at climbing due to having opposable thumbs on their feet.
Like the avians and cetaceans, they evolved to have human-level intelligence over thousands of years through a combination of natural selection and genetic engineering. They have become very dexterous with their hands and grip strength, and they can speak human language. Possibly as an adaptation for better speaking with humans, simians have evolved to be able to stand bipedally for much longer periods of time than their ancestors. Similar to how humans have evolved more neotenous features, simians have evolved similar features as well with their snouts having become shorter. A fully clothed chimpanzee can easily be mistaken for a human at a distance.
Next to only the human adjacent species such as werewolves and hybrids, simians are one of the most populous intelligent species in the galaxy. In major capital areas such as Port Oraulan on the planet Yeddo, they have seamlessly integrated into society. Their greater physical strength and faster maturity rates compared to humans have naturally led to them being favored for their capabilities in physical labor. Many simians can be seen working blue collar jobs, serving in the military and even as mercenaries or bounty hunters.
