"Keep your ears covered. They don't take too kindly to hybrids around here."
Edgar Loft to Raven Hydecroft

Lycanton is a small village found in the Condemned Zone, located approximately three miles from the Port Oraulan border wall. For those venturing to explore the ancient Valerian ruins beyond, it is considered a final rest stop before entering a forsaken land plagued with Rampants. The village has a history dating back hundreds of years, existing as the last remnant of a collapsed state. Because Lycanton technically exists outside the Federation, it is not subject to Federation laws. Black market goods like cybernephrine pass through here. The Hellhounds bounty hunter gang also makes their home here.

Lycanton is home to an all-werewolf community that practices ancient Loupa traditions. While they allow outsiders to pass through their village, they are extremely wary of their presence. Hybrids, especially, tend to be treated with suspicion as according to their ancient traditions, hybrids are considered inbred abominations. Thus, many hybrids passing through tend to wear hats or other head coverings to hide their ears to avoid being attacked on site by fanatics.

Although the majority of the population consists of werewolves, some humans and hybrids also live here though they tend to be the type to keep a low profile. Murders of crows have also made nests in the area, often eavesdropping to get the latest gossip.

Points of interest

Blood Moon Tavern

Blood Moon Tavern is an old fashioned establishment at least 200 years old. It is the common gathering place for the various travelers that pass through the town. A variety of alcoholic drinks are served here although they also have a supply of Enzy-Cola for those who prefer not to get tipsy. A bounty board can be found on the wall showing a list of jobs - anything from clearing out Rampants to hunting down fugitives and criminals.

Headless Statue

A headless stone statue of a man takes the spot of the village's plaza. It is thought to be the village's original founder, but his head was removed during a territory dispute between a few gangs. Since then, no one quite remembers what was being fought over, but the statue was kept as a reminder that no one stays in charge of Lycanton for long. Fittingly, adjacent to the Headless Statue are some gallows.

Rob's Spare Parts

A small shop operated by a synthetic life form named Rob, a former mascot animatronic from a defunct amusement mark. He sells various scrap metal and circuit boards to repair damaged electronics. Some of these spare parts come from the deceased remains of other synthetic life forms, but like most folk in Lycanton, it is wise not to ask where things come from.

Graveyard

Just on the outskirts of the town is a gravesite once owned by a wealthy family. Today, the graveyard serves as a pauper's grave where unfortunate victims of lawless scuffles are buried. Rampants will stalk the area at night.

Ulfenlock House

Repurposed from an old manor is the base of operations for the Hellhounds, a notorious bounty hunter gang. It also serves as a place for appraising unknown virutoarchaeological artifacts, a service conducted by Andora Ulfenlock. She is not the type to ask questions where someone got an artifact from.

Shrine of Anubis

A place of worship where many gather every Onesday for worship. Lycanton was built over the ruins of a Valerian temple dedicated to the worship of the machine god Anubis but he disappeared long ago during the Singularity War. Despite not having been seen since then, Anubis is considered a patron deity for many werewolves.

Although Lycanton is considered a lawless town, one of the few rules is to never cause harm to anyone during worship service. It is a golden rule where all conflicts during this time are at a temporary truce. Anyone who violates this rule is immediately executed on the spot.
