The Dark Mage is a clone of Kristoph Langusten created by the Insurgency. This clone is a stolen consciousness backup of Kristoph uploaded into replica body of him. This was done in an attempt to create more nanobot mages to serve their cause. There were plans to make armies of Dark Mages, but only one clone was successfully made. After the end of the Virtual Wars, he continued finding work as a ruthless mercenary.

While his name is technically also Kristoph, he abandoned the name in favor of seeking his own identity. As thus, he only ever goes by his alias, the Dark Mage.

Appearance

The Dark Mage is nearly identical in appearance to Kristoph. One thing that distinguishes him is a scar over his right eye. In terms of clothing choice, he wears very similar clothes with the exception of his choice of attire being in all black colors. His eyes are also red instead of blue, possibly as a side effect of the imperfect cloning process.

His goal is simply to become the most powerful nanomage there ever was - achieving total control of his nanobots without any limitations. He will do anything to seek out ways to improve himself and his abilities and push beyond the ethical bounds to essentially become a demigod. While he is willing to form alliances, he only does so out of convenience.
