"With the aid of AI's and the algorithm, Virtuoso knows people better than they know themselves. But no one trusts a faceless corporation that dictates their lives, so instead, I'll become that face. I am Lucian Virtuoso, servant for the public good."
―Lucian Virtuoso

Lucian Virtuoso is the current CEO of Virtuoso. He inherited the company from his father, Amon Virtuoso, who in turn had kept the company going as part of a family legacy that has lasted nearly 200 years.

Appearance

Lucian is a tall, thin bald man with cybernetics implants on the right side of his face. His eyes are a shade of gold, a trait that he inherited from his father.

Personality

Lucian finds himself in the shadow of his father who had a notorious ruthless reputation for seeking out the most efficient, optimized profit. When Lucian first took his father's place, he made an active attempt to improve Virtuoso's publicity by portraying himself as a good guy. He wanted to put forth the idea that he was the hero bringing an end to the Virtual Wars and succeeding where the Federation of Stellar Systems failed. He sees his own actions as ends that justify the means in order to bring economic prosperity to the galaxy.

History

Lucian inherited the company at age 21 after his father was murdered by a member of the Awakened cult. Already, he was faced with many challenges as his father's colleagues all looked down on him for supposedly being very optimistic and naive.

Lucian was previously married to a woman named Farsiris Indago with whom he had a son named Cyrus. As a teen, Cyrus died in a tragic accident and Lucian diverted a significant amount of company funds to bring him back to life by uploading Cyrus' consciousness into a VR avatar. This was only made possible by hiring a new CFO named Ezekial Hughs, a man with ties to the Hands of Midas gang. With the criminal underground now seeping its way into taking control of society, Lucian had trouble maintaining ties with his family. Lucian cut off ties and divorced his wife in an attempt to protect her and Cyrus from blackmail to only mixed results. His belief of ends justifying the means was called into question.

Despite these actions, he knew he had a business to run and became committed to the ideas Virtuoso stood for. Over time, he eventually began to believe his own propaganda and developed delusions of grandeur. In reality, he is secretly terrified of the company's shareholders and their connections to the underworld as he perfectly knows very well what they'll do to his family if the company fails to meet profit margins.
