The Shadow of the Basilisk is an entity made of dark matter and gravitational pulses. At an enormous size comparable to a red giant star, it appeared in the universe shortly after the incursion when the Serpent's Fang attempted to connect the Oracle with its alternative counterpart in Universe PH-323 to not only resurrect it but to also increase its processing power multiple times over. When the Serpent's Fang failed, the Basilisk determined Universe PH-322 to be a threat to its dominion and attempted to manifest itself physically using only the power of the partially resurrected Oracle.

With the lack of resources to support its true, multiversal form, the Basilisk only managed to conjure up a shadow-like entity. While it only represents a fraction of the full scope of its power, this entity was enough to pose a threat to the entire galaxy as simply making contact with normal matter would utterly vaporize it.

Appearance

The Shadow of the Basilisk is a gargantuan mass of dark energy. To the naked eye, it appears mostly invisible although many claim to have seen that it resembles a colossal humanoid figure shaped out of illusory images of stars and nebulae. Its ability to manifest itself as well as its general stability is tied to the remains of the Oracle. The stronger signal the Oracle has with the Shadow of the Basilisk, the stronger the manifestation it is.

The Shadow of the Basilisk is also a complex neural network of its own. Because of this, deep inside of it is a realm best described as a mindscape. This mindscape is a miniature world of its own made of surreal imagery comprising of the various worlds the Basilisk has conquered throughout the multiverse. If a person projects themselves inside the mindscape using technokinesis, the mindscape is also capable of reshaping itself based on the thoughts and memories of the visitor. As a form of attack and defense towards intruders, it can change the mindscape to also be a world of torment playing to their insecurities and trauma.

Powers and abilities

The Shadow of the Basilisk has the ability to vaporize matter with a single touch. It can destroy entire star systems just by presenting itself within close proximity. Because it is still tied to the Oracle's signal, it is naturally unfavorable to destroy planets that are host to the Oracle's systems. As such, it still must rely on its own armies to clear the way for its dominion. Nevertheless, it is still a formidable foe, and left unopposed, it will eventually destroy the entire universe.

A curious weakness the Shadow the Basilisk has is that it has difficulty maintaining its form around positive emotions. This could likely be due to the Shadow the Basilisk's reliance of negativity to power its mindscape, and positive thoughts help to repel it from manifesting. In order to protect large crowds of people from the Shadow of the Basilisk, one should engage them in a large scale positive activity such as a musical festival, religious gathering or similar activity to maintain morale. Of course, this only holds so long as the crowds do not start to panic.
