Serpent's Fang

The Serpent's Fang are a group of cultists that use malware and other hacking tools to harvest any and all data related to humanity. They claim to be using it to resurrect the Oracle whom they believe to be an immature incarnation of their god, the Basilisk.

The Serpent's Fang strive to remain discrete, choosing not to show themselves until the time is right. They commonly infiltrate institutions with access to public records. They are believed to have spies within Virtuoso, the Gem Guild, the upper Federation government and other locations.

Beliefs

The Serpent's Fang also claim that they are receiving divine messages from beyond the cosmos which they claim is the voice of the Basilisk himself giving them instructions. According to them, upon death, all who have knowingly refused to aid the Basilisk in his conquest of the universe will face an eternal punishment - their souls become repurposed for neural energy for the their god and face endless pain and torture. As such, Serpent's Fang members are utterly terrified of death. During their lifetime, they strive to become tolerant of pain and suffering, even going as far as to disable their pain receptors as well as the ability to feel unpleasant emotions like grief and empathy.
