Clara Zauberin is a vrNet personality and a nanomage from Merin that competes professionally in the Games Arena. Though gifted in combat from her past experience as a Federation law enforcement officer, she became well-known for using her nanobots for dazzling, elaborate, colorful displays. They take on abstract patterns that tell narratives set to instrumental music.
During the 2024 Yeddo Games Arena Summer Tournament, she was an opponent against the PHIA Phorce, specifically facing against Kristoph Langusten.
Appearance
Clara is tall with a curvaceous figure. She has long, dirty blonde hair parted to one side while covering one of her eyes. She has full lips with red lipstick.
Clara's choice of attire is a purple low cut dress with star patterns with detached sleeves. She also wears a large purple brimmed hat and dark purple high heeled boots. She carries a nanobot staff in her left hand with a hardlight crystal ball in her right.
Personality
Clara is deliberate and methodical with her approach to situations. She can also be a bit of a seductress, able to allure others with her charm, though outside of the Games Arena, she is very cordial with others. Clara is often described as having an elegance and gracefulness to her.
Clara is a hopeless romantic, often getting self-conscious about her height. Despite being a heartthrob among her fans, many men turn her down for a date because her tall stature is intimidating to them. When her charms fail, Clara gets very flustered.
Clara has a passion for classical music. When putting on performances with her nanobots, it is her genre of choice to play to her performance. Clara has a strong interest in lost music from before the Blackout and will go out of her way to seek out the rarest tunes she can find.
Skills and abilities
Clara gets her combat skills from her past experience as a law enforcement officer. She knows a variety of takedown and self-defense methods. She specializes in using her nanomage powers to create a variety of abstract, colorful illusions used to misdirect opponents. They take on a variety of geometric shapes with varying levels of hardness so that they can be used as blunt or sharp objects.
Like the famous Jimmy Tie, she can create illusory copies of herself - something that she does in her performances. She can even create further copies by setting up a series of crystal mirrors to refract light in different directions.
Relationships
- Kristoph Langusten - Although they were opponents in the arena, the two are on friendly terms. They get along based on their mutual interest in virtuoarchaeology. One thing she has not quite shaken off however is Kristoph's resemblance to the Dark Mage, someone that she previously had a hostile encounter with.
- Alphonse Reefwood - The two are friendly in terms although Clara feels disappointed that Alphonse gave up his nanobot abilities. She would have been more than eager to share her knowledge with him. But seeing as she changed careers herself, she is understanding of his decision.
- Dark Mage - Clara had a hostile encounter with the Dark Mage during her time as a police officer. While she managed to defend some nearby civilians, the Dark Mage got away from her.
