Archaetronian
Archaetronians are a race of synthetic life forms native to the planet Archaetron. Life on their planet arose when the Valerian Empire released several microscopic nanobot amoebas programmed to self-replicate and evolve. While the original intention was to test out their evolution simulations in a live environments, a completely new society formed based on mechanized life forms.
Biology
Perhaps by convergent evolution, Archaetronians evolved to resemble Earth therapods. They evolved opposable thumbs, and they are generally very lightweight and durable for their size. Due to their forward leaning stance, they also have a tail which they use for balance.
Archaetronians also have many analogues to organic life forms such as having a complete digestive system and nervous system, only that they are made of synthetic materials. Unlike other synthetic life forms, many have developed the means of directly eating. Society for early Archaetronians as a result evolved as a hunter-gatherer culture. Even today, this sort of primal, tribal instinct is present in their society. In their society, being a strong, adaptable warrior is a mark of praise.
Culture
Archaetronians in general tend to be considered highly spiritual. Some worship the Valerians as their creators, referring to them as the Carbon Angels. Others are more animistic, worshiping the earth itself and how the life force of organisms flow between one another.
While most Archaetronians are friendly towards humans, they still view them with caution. For most of the Singularity War, they were isolated from the rest of the galaxy. The Valerians had destroyed the vrNet servers connecting their planet in order to protect them from the Oracle's influence - an entity to the Archaetronians known as the Whisperer. Any Archaetronians who happened to be off planet at the time were unable to return home and many likely succumbed to the Oracle.
