Level 20 Town Guard (Guard for short) is an NPC in the Dreaming Kingdoms MMO that through a series of bugs, broke away from his normal script and became sentient. When this occurred, he was largely considered a novelty at first, but he has since become a prominent member of the Red Crusaders Clan having valuable knowledge on the various scripts that run the characters of the game.

Appearance

Guard wears an outfit similar to that seen of the other guards in one of Dreaming Kingdoms' starting towns. He wears armor made of iron and wields a sword and shield. He has a rather plain face, although this is intentionally part of his original design. What distinguishes him from other guards is his red cloak - signifying his allegiance with the Red Crusaders.

Personality

Although he has become sentient, he still has instincts to play a part into Dreaming Kingdoms' narrative. He will also work in many of his stock phrases into his normal speech. He seeks to uphold his duty to protect other players from harm and to maintain the integrity of the game by fighting against cheaters.

Guard often questions whether or not he is truly alive as his self-awareness was the result of a fluke. He is also uncertain what to think of other players who actively mess with him by reciting other guards' stock lines to him. Nevertheless, he continues to remain headstrong and willing to adapt.

Guard also looks up to Abraham Lincoln as a role model, as he views him as a symbol of what a truly free virtual life form could be like.
