Eris Duellona is a Valerian that once served Empress Minerva in her honor guard during the prime of the Valerian Empire. She ended up in the present time after a spacefold drive incident stranded her outside of Charted Space. The time it took for her to get back caused significant time dilation which sent her forward in time by thousands of years, by which point the Valerian Empire was gone. Still bound by her oath to serve the empire, she sought out the direct descendants of the empress.

Eris is thought to be one of the last, if not the last pure-blooded Valerian. The majority of them went extinct during the Singularity War while the survivors had to interbreed with normal humans, losing most of their genetic abilties in the process.

Appearance

Eris is a dark-skinned woman with glowing blue eyes and long auburn hair. Though she is on the shorter side when it comes to Valerians, she still towers over the majority of humans. Eris prefers to wear ceremonial armor made of various alloys of metal.

Personality

Eris is a fiercely loyal warrior, always putting the needs of others before herself. She still strives to uphold the legacy of the empire, and she has committed fully to upholding her duties. She owes it to herself to help others, and due to her position, she finds it hard to conceptualize whatever her own personal ambitions might be.

History

Eris served Empress Minerva during the golden age of the Valerian Empire. Later on during its waning years, tensions were increasing across the empire as they struggled to govern the colonies throughout the galaxy. The Oracle was under construction at the time and even Eris was skeptical of how effective it could be. While escorting the empress enroute to a diplomatic hearing, assassins attacked. While Eris was able to fend them off, her ship malfunctioned and sent her to an unknown part of the galaxy. With her spacefold drive no longer functional, she was forced to travel at sublight speeds to reach the nearest colony. However, due to time dilation, she found herself thousands of years into the future, having missed almost the entire Singularity War.

Even though the Valerian Empire had fallen, she still committed to her oath to serve the empress. She eventually traveled to Yeddo in search of descendants in order to hopefully restart the empire. She was initially horrified to find the rogue nation of Taranis which was ruled by a descendant Minerva, Phyliss Taranis - a ruthless dictator. But eventually, Eris found PHIA who, while inexperienced, was someone that Eris believed could be trained to one day avenge the empire and destroy the Oracle.

Eris joined the PHIA Phorce, hoping to train PHIA to learn to use her powers and to perhaps understand the new galaxy that the Singularity War left behind.

Skills and Abilities

As a pure-blooded Valerian, she possesses all the natural enhancements that come with her physiology. She is at peak physical strength and mental acuity of a human and is built for combat. She also posseses technokinesis, allowing seamless interaction with the virtual worlds and various electronics.

Her favored weapon is a polearm which goes well with her height in terms of reach. The blade of the polearm vibrates rapidly which allows it to cut through almost any unshielded material. Her armor, while ceremonial, contains built-in forcefields that can absorb fast moving projectiles.
